2010 with a dead battery

We picked up a 2010 WK HEMI with 15k miles on it about a month ago and have put about 1000 miles on it since. Tonight we went out and when we got back in the damn thing was dead. Click.

We got a jump and drove home with a CEL. I also noticed that the ECO indicator wasn't appearing on the dash too.

This thing has cost me more in maintenance and stupid shit than either of our Wranglers that we have had for two and three years. Is this normal or did I buy someone's headache?

Re: 2010 with a dead battery

Yes yes I know. I didn't complete my thought before I posted. Lol! Watching tv and posting = poor choice!

I am more concerned with the other stuff like the mds not functioning and the transmission concerns which I added tithe first post.

Sorry.

Re: 2010 with a dead battery

When the battery on our jeeps have low voltage a lot of the electronics tend to freak out.

What is the code for the CEL that came up?

Re: 2010 with a dead battery

EVIC - To display codes, Turn your key on and off three times without starting the vehicle and at the end of the third you should either get the code(s) or "DONE".

Re: 2010 with a dead battery

Thanks. Been trying it after following the directions from WKjeeps. No luck at all. I'm just about ready to push this thing down a hill. Lol

Re: 2010 with a dead battery

As viking said..... The wk freaks out when the battery runs low. Once you get a new battery it will run fine.

Re: 2010 with a dead battery

I did a little research and I'm going to see if they'll warranty the battery for me. It's a long shot and I'm laughing about the thought of asking but the worst they can say is no.

They already owe me a new back up camera and it's well under warranty so maybe if I offer some donuts or whiskey my service advisor will hook me up.

I'll let ya'll know what happens. I wish I'd of just bought an SRT8. I settled for this thing being "smart" and have kicked myself continually since I brought it home. Ha ha! I think it doesn't like me back!

Re: 2010 with a dead battery

I'm sorry I disappeared. The dealership replaced the battery under warranty. That was cool...but it took them 3 days. LOL!!
