We picked up a 2010 WK HEMI with 15k miles on it about a month ago and have put about 1000 miles on it since. Tonight we went out and when we got back in the damn thing was dead. Click.
We got a jump and drove home with a CEL. I also noticed that the ECO indicator wasn't appearing on the dash too.
This thing has cost me more in maintenance and stupid shit than either of our Wranglers that we have had for two and three years. Is this normal or did I buy someone's headache?
EVIC - To display codes, Turn your key on and off three times without starting the vehicle and at the end of the third you should either get the code(s) or "DONE".
Lol there are many times I want to hulk out on mine too. Worse comes to worse don't sweat it tomorrow hit up auto-zone and they will plug in an OBDII scanner for free and pull the code.
I did a little research and I'm going to see if they'll warranty the battery for me. It's a long shot and I'm laughing about the thought of asking but the worst they can say is no.
They already owe me a new back up camera and it's well under warranty so maybe if I offer some donuts or whiskey my service advisor will hook me up.
I'll let ya'll know what happens. I wish I'd of just bought an SRT8. I settled for this thing being "smart" and have kicked myself continually since I brought it home. Ha ha! I think it doesn't like me back!
I'm pretty sure the MDS system is picky with regards to necessary conditions before it will activate. If there is a CEL code thrown, that would explain why it didn't enter eco-mode at all.
glad to hear the dealership took care of it for you. i just recently bought a mopar battery and it has a 72 month warranty. i've had my wk hemi for almost 6 years and starter, battery, power steering pump, and brakes is all i've done to it. it has been very reliable.
