2010 WK - Passenger Blend Actuator Gears

Hey guys, new to this forum.

I've searched the threads but don't see too much for the WK however the WK2 there is a great write-up.

Issue I have is the actuator gear is broke. I have removed the actuator and will be ordering another gear for that. The problem is.. I think I'm missing the other gear it runs. The way I am looking at the issue, it seems the 2nd gear would go in the top left white hole. See picture below.

Am I looking at this correctly? If so, any idea where to get this second gear?

I looked everywhere for a gear laying around. I couldn't even find the broken gear from the actuator. I'm guessing the previous owner attempted to fix it and just left it.

BTW the white stem that the actuator gear attaches to has been fixed since this picture was taken.

Re: 2010 WK - Passenger Blend Actuator Gears

Update: I had a buddy come over so I could see a working actuator and found out there are no gears in this area. Once the white stem was fixed the issue was resolved... I think. Putting it together in a few hours.

I have found many to have the same issue, not able to turn the heat for the passenger. It seems that the part connecting the actuator with the blend flap breaks with no available replacement part from Jeep.

If one needs I am selling the part over at Ebay:

Re: 2010 WK - Passenger Blend Actuator Gears

If, by some remote chance, it's the same gear as in the earlier HVAC systems, the part number is: Mopar P/N 68072190AA. I bought mine from QuirkParts.com. You should do a little research first, although the part only costs about $14 or so. I ordered two when I had this problem with my 06 dual zone HVAC system. I guess I also find it hard to believe that, if this is the problem and the same part, Fiat/Chrysler hasn't fixed this over the years, but then again we're dealing with Fiat/Chrysler, and we know how they handle some issues and especially recalls. In any case, let us know what you find out as inquiring minds want to know.

The part 68072190AA is not connected to the cold/hot blend doors, it is the gear for the air circulation.

Re: 2010 WK - Passenger Blend Actuator Gears

Hello IlanLCD,

I also have the cold/hot blend doors door problem. I've taken out the glove box and looked at the part that attaches to the actuator and it is broken.

I looks like you part will fix the problem. Do you know if the broken part slides out or does the Distribution Box still need to be removed to replace this broken part?

Thanks for your help,
Alan

Alan,

A simple fix, just swap the parts.

Thank you for bying one. Before putting back the actuator make sure it is aligned, play with the temp. knob to do that.
