Unhappy 2014 wk2 cruise control speed set varies

Cruise turns on/off as designed, but speed selected will not maintain. On flat road speed will vary 1-2 mph which is not bad. While climbing hills set speed will drop as much as 5 mph. On downside of hill, speed will exceed set point by 3-5 mph. I complained to dealer who says road test "would not duplicate." Problem is a lack of hills near dealership. Cruise problem has persisted without change for 52,000 miles. I've never had a vehicle of any brand that had such a sloppy cruise control. Is there a fix for this or does the unit need to be replaced?

Re: 2014 wk2 cruise control speed set varies

You’re describing how CC has operated in every car I have owned or driven, every car. Downhill, speed increases and then it gets under control with engine breaking back to close to what it set at. Uphill, the opposite, drops then increases slowly.
There was a TSB for the 3.0 Ecodiesel to help with more engine breaking on descents, but your increases are nothing like the problem I had before the TSB was applied, my speeds were increasing my 15-20mph easily on decent but no crazy steep descents.
You haven’t mentioned your engine type, or model, eg Overland with advanced package, as the adaptive cruise is different to standard CC.
