3 Problems I hope someone has a fix for!

Problem 1 - Passenger side window - will stop 1/2 way up and go back down, like it gets stuck? Took the door panel off and can't see anything that would be causing it to hang up like that.

Problem 2 - Rear A/C vent's have broken somehow? They just fall down and blow air at the floor instead of at my kids, how can one get these apart to see what broke and get them fixed to they stay where my kids want them again.

Problem 3 - Rear passenger door lock will not lock/unlock with the remote or inside buttons. Has to be manually pulled in order to lock or unlock. Again, took the panel off and did not notice anything crazy or out of the norm, though I am not sure what to look for exactly. Would it be mechanical, or electrical?

ANY help as to fixing these would be awesome guys, Thanks!

1: there is a tsb for this... currently my stupid browser is not loading the page, IIRC it involves an update for both door modules and possibly replacing both door modules and regulators. I cannot remember for sure, let me work on getting the tsb.

2: Im not to sure to be honest.

3: Door lock actuator. if you have a testlight you should be able to verify popping the connector off the actuator and going to each pin in the connector while pressing lock/unlock. If it lights up you got power and the lock actuator is failed. I have seen a broken wire in the rear door jamb on a wk so I would for sure check to make sure you have power and ground at the actuator before throwing an actuator at it.

For 2, mine have been this way since I bought it 3 years ago. The way to get the part off invokes removing that whole shifter area, and to get to that you have to remove the radio cluster, etc. PITA. I'd take it somewhere and get a quote. Try rockauto.com for the part.

They should be, but it does not always work that way with stealers

Driver's window on my WK does the same thing. This may be a stupid question but what is TSB?

Mine did that and then got jammed in the trim and broke the window in half.

TSB's are not a warranty covered items if the vehicle is out of warranty. They are instructions on how to repair a problem that has happened enough to cause a red flag to go up on warranty claims. They can save the customer money in some cases because the complaint and cause are spelled out with the repair labor amount and parts list required to fix the problem. Recalls differ from TSB's in they are covered at no charge to the customer, in or out of warranty. You should always have your vin number run when you buy a vehicle and have all recalls taken care of. Some recalls that are not a saftey problem can have a expire date. So it is important to check them out. I just had a shifter interlock recal on my old 1998 Grand Cherokee done at no charge with 155,000 on the Jeep. I hope the new owner will be happy that I was looking out for his saftey since it was stollen a week after I had the recall done.

1-yep...try resetting the window. There is a procedure like th OP says above

2- you will have to pull the center console to remove the rear vents. they are replaceable and cant be purchsed new...or find a set on the forums here. To remove the console....pull the nav or radio bezel off...pull towrd your body. next...pull the chrome trim fom around the shifter, pull the cupholder off, pull the trim around thw shifter up and off. the hvac could have a screw in the little cubbie...depends on year. remove that if so. Pull the hvac trim lose. Remove bolt from cupholer area. remove torx screws from each side of console. pull rear cover from console and remove two torx screws from floor on the end of the console. Console should lift up and you can pull the vents off from the back.
3- follow what 2005jgc said above

Alright thanks for the replies everyone, the window thing I will look into further and yes, I have tried the reset trick by holding the switch up for a few seconds.. didn't work! I guess since there is a TSB the part is not very cheap!

Removing the console is what I figured I would have to do to get to those vents, scott would you happen to have a part number for those rear vents by chance, or a diagram where I can get it from? I will tackle that one in an upcoming weekend when I have more free time to tear the interior up lol

I do have a test light I will check the plug on the actuator out as well as trace the wiring to see if it is torn. Where can a lock actuator be purchased, and would anyone happen to have a part number for it? Thanks again guys!

the procedure for your window is hold the down button for 20 seconds and then see if it works..it resets it..if that doesnt work hold it up for 20 seconds...if it still does the same thing..u prob need a new part..
