My 4low don't work anymore , even jeep dealership erased the motor error codes .it's a while i haven't used 4 low
The transfer case actuator has been replaced from previous owner approx 3-4 years ago
I had the N23 recall done .
How can I make it work again . And why Chrysler Jeep don't do anything to really solve the problem , all owners have the same issue ....
Is there a possibility to flash the module with a older soft ?

Re: 4wd low problem

Finding a pre-flash FDCM will get my 4-low back? Just replace & I'm good? Anybody have a part# or know where it's at on the case?

Re: 4wd low problem

Yes a pre flashed FDCM will get 4lo back. Anybody that has this problem read the No 4lo thread on jeepforum all info on part # for FDCM are on there. There is no new Flash as of now. I was reading the thread back in July when I received my notice and did not get it done. What a major mess this has caused jeep owners. There is only a small percentage of people who use 4lo and just think of all the jeep owners who don't even know yet.

Re: 4wd low problem

I bought mine used and it got flashed during the 100+ point inspection at the dealership. Love the jeep, but this has been annoying. Dealership keeps assuring me that the new actuator will solve the issue. Been waiting to go trail riding with it... like K man said, what is going to happen as all these others start to find out.

It makes me wonder what Jeep is thinking. When I got the Jeep in Feb, there were around 3500 actuators on back order. Wouldn't that raise a red flag?

Re: 4wd low problem

Did the fuse pull trick to verify that it was the FDCM. Pulled the back seat up to get the version number (...199AJ). A guy on the "other" forum hooked me up with the same pre-flash model. 4 low is back in action. Still hanging on to my flashed FDCM in case there is ever newer software that actually works. I know this isn't part of the solution, but I don't have the time to pester the geniuses at the local Jeep dealer. It's summer damnit! I need my low range.

Re: 4wd low problem

Well, back in the summer my dealership replaced the 4wd acuator and so far I've had 4wd low. I really haven't put a lot of miles on the Jeep (less than 4000 since I got it in Feb) and tonight it came up with the service 4wd code. Anyone know where I can find an preflash fdcm?

Re: 4wd low problem

There is a new flash notification as of late JULY 2014. Had mine done again 2 months ago and all is well so far. Jeep aren't advertising the new flash.
Google up N23 you will probably find it, then you can copy it and poke it up the stealer's nose if he doesn't do it free.
regards, Lionel.

Re: 4wd low problem

The ignition recall is a sore spot for me. It stems from the location of the ignition switch and "people accidently hitting it with their knees thereby moving the key to off" and thus shutting the truck off. Now. I don't load my keyring up with dangles and extra keys. It's too much weight on an ignition to begin with... and.. I bet, if they really researched it... it's people that have tons of crap on their keys that hangs down 18 inches and is rubbing against their legs anyway. They move their right leg, it pulls against the chain of crap on the key and turns it to off. Just like the 4wd problem, the real fix was using the parking break, the real fix on the ignition switch problem is take all that crap off your keychain. But the dealers are installing a heavier spring in the ignition that will help prevent the unintended switching to off.

Re: 4wd low problem

I read about the ignition switch recall somewhere, and the plan is to replace the spring that holds the key in the 'on' position with 'a more sturdy spring' to prevent accidental movement to the off position... when I talked to the dealer today about the 4wd flash (he was not even aware it was out yet) and asked him he said no one knows when the parts will be in for the ignition.

And I am taking the Jeep in tomorrow morning for the new flash update. They are doing it for free. Maybe my tires won't fall off afterward
