Hi guys, im trying to figure out where my vehicle speed sensor is. I'm getting mixed answers. People are telling me it's the transmission sensor (input and output shaft sensors). Ive seen the abs sensors at each wheel position. Are those it or are they somewhere else. Id really like to fix this asap so any input would be helpful. Thanks advance guys.
Ive looked at then and found no breaks or fraying do you have any insight on how to check i they are good or bad? They leave the wheel and go up into a panel under it and i assume goto the abs mobule how would I replace something like that?
The connectors for the rear wheel speed sensors are hidden under the carpet under the rear seat. Not sure what the resistance should be, but compare the left rear sensor with the right rear sensor.
Best would be to scan the ABS system for faults. Besides speed sensor(s), it could also be the ABS controller or even the PCM. Did you check all fuses first? A blown ABS fuse for example would already cause no speed indiaction.
I have but ill be in it tomm amd ill keep u posted apparently this p0500 code is a pain in the ass to deal with as ive been read alot into it online. Thx
Ok this is what i have no abs codes present i have an INNOVA 3030f that reads abs codes. I unplugged the rear sensors and got abs code 5 and abs code 7 with abs light on plugged back up reset abs light they are not present and its still reading the p0500 is still there and no speedometer??? Im lost. My jeep has a new ecu and tcm
Did you change the ECU (PCM) for this problem? The PCM receives the speed info from the ABS controller and than sends it via the PCI data bus to the instrument cluster.
No it was due to an issue with it controlling the coil packs and fuel injectors. No start basically. I did just check thru wiring from abs harness to bcm and it was all good the white/ orange wire is a 5v ref to bcm and purple/pink is 12v power to abs ecu they were all good so would b it be a bad abs controller?
