I don't know how much the part costs but I bet it's a "stealer" only part.

Re: a/c recirculator

Try doing a manual door calibration

Courtesy of WKJEEPS.COM

Grand Cherokee TSB's

MTC REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Replace the manual temperature control head. Refer to TechCONNECT for detailed
repair procedures, select the SERVICE INFO tab / 24 - Heating & Air Conditioning >
Controls > Controls A/C Heater Removal and Installation.
2. Perform a manual door calibration:
a. Turn blower motor off
b. Hold the EBL (defrost) button while turning the blower on.
c. Hold EBL for 5 seconds. EBL will blink at 1 HZ until test is complete (approximately
1 minute). Test is complete when the EBL stops blinking.
NOTE: If EBL and A/C begin to blink then there are diagnostic trouble codes set in
the control head requiring further diagnosis.

Re: a/c recirculator

The dealer wont just sell you a new gear, they will sell you the entire recirc housing. It was not that expensive. I got it for about $40 two years ago. I just removed the gear from the new housing and installed it on my car. The new gear is an improved design that is stronger. Its a simple fix, but you have to buy the entire housing.

Re: a/c recirculator

UPDATE - i visited the dealer today for this recirculation problem that i have the last couple of months. They initially told me that they will upgrade the HVAC system program. They did it and then tested it and no faults reported in his computer. Then the electrician told me that the problems stands elsewhere and run towards the glovebox to find out that the recirculator actuator gear is broken. They said the spare costs about 300 Euros because they sell the total housing which understand includes the recirculator door. Iam not going to pay 300 euro because they want to sell the whole thing as one part. I just need the actuator gear.......I will try to have a look myself by removing the actuator and check if i can fix it somehow, but in the meantime do you guys have any suggestions ???
