About to over heat

I have a 05 4.7 jeep grand Cherokee with the ac on it runs a line or two below the half mark on the temp gauge when driving on the freeway but in town or sitting still its a line or two about half is this normal ?

The temperature gauge should be around middle when stopped. I would check my radiator fan for proper operation.
