Re: ABS ESP BAS lights

Bill is up to $220 (includes tire size correction), 5 hours later and still not fixed.

The guy at the dealer knows nothing, just what the computer tells him. He would not do TSB 18-027-11.

Re: ABS ESP BAS lights

For the life of me iv never understood why people get error codes cleared without finding out whats wrong. So you say there is nothing wrong, how do you know for sure? Those lights are VERY VERY important systems, why would you wanna get it cleared without looking into it? They come on for a reason, so getting it checked out and fixed is necessary. I find it amazing that people do that, god forbid something went wrong with your brakes while you were doing 70 on the highway... and you had warning but cleared it. Rant over

Re: ABS ESP BAS lights

I do not know the real name, but it looks like a min harness that goes from fuse box into the cab. It's a huge (2.5" wide)white connector with a cam lever that closes and locks the connector.

Its located below the fuse box and behind the battery.

It may look like a robust connector, but it is not. I did not abuse or yank on the connector.

Look at my signature "Is it me or everything plastic on the new Jeeps is cheap and breaks easily?" That has been there for a long time. My XJ was in awesome condition when I sold it at 187K miles, I doubt the WK will make it that far.

Brakes are hydraulic...they will work if the electronics go out.

Re: ABS ESP BAS lights

Ultimately this is VERY uncommon but happens. I have seen a couple cars come from the factory with a pin pushed out of one of these connectors, one at an abs module and one in a wrangler and the thing had 9k miles on it before the guy realized his back windows didnt work.

Re: ABS ESP BAS lights

I checked the harness for pushed pins.
The best I could come up with I damaged the female pins while probing.

Even if I could fix the pins, I would never know. ABS codes are not cleared by disconnecting the battery.

Re: ABS ESP BAS lights

Monday afternoon a little over 7 days, no Jeep.
No apology from the manager and not willing to remove the charges for the original repair.

"but we fixed your car"

Re: ABS ESP BAS lights

sensors were notbad....The main harness connector was bad.

They fixed that in a few hours....the rest of the time was for the body work.

The dealer bent my door.

5:30, still no Jeep.
