Adjustable pedals issue...

My adjustable pedals only move about 1/2-3/4". Anyone else experience this issue?

TIA;

Dave

Re: Adjustable pedals issue...

Very common issue, my pedals do the same. If you look down there there is a cable that moves/spins to adjust the pedals. If you unhook the one going to the accelerator your brake should now move, you can use pliers to pinch the metal connector and remove it but I just did it by hand . If this doesn't work unhook the brake and then hook it back in. Basically the gear in your accelerator pedal is stripped and you will need to buy a new accelerator pedal assembly for it to work. Let me know if you figure out a way to fix it without replacing the whole accelerator assembly.

2002 Grand 4.7 HO - Thanks for this tip. I did the same thing to partially fix it. The brake pedal was all the way up and gas was all the way down. It was a real pain to reach the end of the cable, so using a long handled needle-nose pliers to squeeze the sides in. Then using a large flat bladed screwdriver pried out the cable going to the gas pedal from the brake. The brake pedal then moved, and I was now able to plug the cable back into the gas pedal side. So I could raise that pedal off of the floor. I have now gotten both pedals to where I can at least leave them from now on. They're both pretty much stripped but by pushing and pulling on them with the motor running once I had plugged the cable back in that got them pretty much in the middle.
