Air Bag Light Going On and Off

2005 WK Rocky Mountain Ed. with 94k. The warning light in the guage display comes on and goes off randomly. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if so, how to fix it.

Re: Air Bag Light Going On and Off

Check to make sure all the connections under the seats for the weight sensors are good.

These can come loose from the seat moving forward and back and/or having stuff crammed under the seat.

Re: Air Bag Light Going On and Off

yup, definatly check under the seats, happened on my 2007, turns out my drivers side plugs were loose from moving the seat and such. Unhooked my battery to be on the safe side, held the brake for 20 seconds to clear any power in the system, unplugged and replugged the connectors, hooked upmy battery and never had the light again for the last 13 months.

Re: Air Bag Light Going On and Off

I have found the connector under the seats to be a common issue... most people just replace the pretensioner (the buckle) and I have seen a couple come back that I then got to look at and moving the connector the code went stored and all was well... considering the new pretensioner, and inspecting the wiring for chaffing and not seeing anything, I would lean towards a pin issue on the body side of the connector. Either way the last 2 that come to mind I disconnected the connector, cleaned the pins up, verified the wiring was routed where it should be and reconnected the connector (properly mounting the connector to the seat base) and neither has yet to return).
