Air Dam Loose on 09

A co-worker just got a 09 Jeep Grand Cherokee and has an issue.

The lower air dam keep coming "un-clipped" . It keeps popping down and the little clips aren't holding.

Common problem? Easy fix?

Almost looks like the piece behind it isn't hooked up either.

Any links to an exploded view to see what should be holding it on?

Re: Air Dam Loose on 09

there are like 15-20 clips on the lower air dam so specifics would help.

Re: Air Dam Loose on 09

Sorry for the poor quality cell phone pics.

You can clip it back in, but a trip on the road and it pops back out.

Do you have all the clips? I would check to make sure.. if not, just grab some or a new full set and try to re attach.. as far as I'm concerned though, you should just take it off! ... its begging to get off that body! haha your jeep wants some ORT!

Re: Air Dam Loose on 09

looks like everything is there.

Maybe the previous owner nailed something and tweaked the piece behind the outer plastic and it is pushing out on it?

body shop time?

get under there and take a looksies.
if something is notched out or snapped off causing it to hang where it should be attaching, you should be able to see/feel it... then you can go from there on options...
OR you can just take it off! haha
Good luck with it though!

Re: Air Dam Loose on 09

I would take it off, paint it and then reattach it correctly. I forgot how ugly the stock airdam is unpainted

Re: Air Dam Loose on 09

Is it possible to pop it off without breaking all kinds of little clips?

That would make it easier to re-install and ensure it is on there right...

you have to take all those little clips off.. theres a few little guys you need to turn and a few more little guys to take off then you can firmly, but gently remove it. look in your manual..it tells you. as well as you can search online and find out exactly how.. but yea, either take it off and color match it.. or just take it off and leave it off.
