This should be done in such a way that the light is on when the engine is (or suppose to be) running. If you experience a stall and the light stays on, you'll be relatively certain it is NOT an electrical issue, at least in the ASD circuit. If the light goes off when it stalls, you'll know where to start looking. You can do the same with the fuel pump relay. I think, on any of these stalling problems, isolation of fuel or ignition should be done. It'll at least give you a little better idea of where to focus your attention.
Excellent advice!

Also change out the ASD relay or bypass it altogether.

I hope you're not paying for all of this.

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

Absolutely not! I have a 100k warranty. Wouldn't take it unless they gave me one! Bought it in 2010 w 46k and within a year it had its first stall. Nonetheless this is all covered under some emissions act! I wonder what they're gonna do next. I called the GM of the dealership and left a message informing him what's going on! We'll see!

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

Get a really good deal on an SRT and trade it.

Hahahaha a brand new one? I don't think they'll have any used ones but who knows. I'll know more Monday after they've talked to Chrysler

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

GL coop! I wonder if this would be covered under my lifetime power train warranty? I also reported my freeway stall to the dealer so they have record...what is the precedence here?

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

Glad I didn't take the bet. I did figure it would work at least until you got it home. I think I am going to quit partaking in these stalling threads. I am starting to fear that the "stall bug" may jump off the screen and infect my WK....knock on wood it won't. Coop, once you get it all worked out, you shouldn't have any problems reinstalling your CMR tune. Good luck and everyone with the problem, keep us posted.

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

Brad- did you throw a code? Mines done it prob a good 12 times!

gcoman- Hahaha right?! I didn't even get a chance to take her home, she stalled on them. Again! Weird how you can usually never get the issue to arise with the dealer. I have no clue what the next step is but we'll see. I will def keep you updated!

Thanks

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

Did they replace the engine harness or atleast check the ASD relay power wire as it has 1 (3-way) splice inbetween the PCM and the ASD?

If this wire has an issue your Jeep will die.

You can also by-pass the PCM's control of the ASD relay to rule out the PCM or the command wire mentioned above.
