No idea what they actually did. He said they tried a ton of stuff today and basically ran outta options.

Ok update. Tried a whole new PCM and it stalled. Tried the ASD relay and it stalled. Tried a new ignition switch and she stalled. Glad she's stalling so much for them, that's usually unheard of. Now they're checking all my grounds. Wonder what's next

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

I would look at the wiring from the PCM to the ASD relay. There is a 3 way splice in there. I would also look at how the wiring is tucked under the fuse blocks in the engine compartment and also how that unit is grounded (the bolts that hold it down).

Did they by-pass the PCM's control of the ASD relay?

Yup they just tried all that. Now they're lookin at all the grounds. They're completely puzzled. Nothing has worked.

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

I've done some research on this and have not been able to find a definite answer. My 08 has done that 3 times in the 15 months I have owned it. All 3 times when coasting with foot off the gas. I didnt take it in due to bad luck w/ dealerships in the past plus I doubt that I would be able to recreate the problem and that they would be able to fix it. So interested to see what they are going to do with yours since it's stalling in their hands.

I have seen a recall with this issue but it appears that it only applies to vehicles manufactured during a certain period of time and from looking at the sticker on the door, mine was manufactured a few months after that time frame. In that recall they replace pcm.

Mine has only stalled twice coop, and only once while on the freeway. No codes were thrown and all seemed the same after I started her back up...silly gremlins

It's just so weird such a big issue is still not fixed. Such a safety hazard too. If I wasn't a good driver I would have crashed. Fast lane on the 101 405 interchange is not a good spot to stall. Haha

I've been without my Jeep for a week and I hate the Liberty im driving haha

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

Was the tranny fluid ever checked? If you're low on fluid, it could cause stalling.

Re: Another randomly stalling hemi

You could try putting it in 2nd instead of D and drive around like that. If it runs without stalling, it could be a neutral safety switch out of adjustment, killing the ignition...just a thought, for it has happened before on other vehicles.
