Have a few posts on various forums including a few replies to similar issues here but here are the details...

2007 Overland, Hemi bought Jan 2008 with 17K miles, now has 91K miles.

9/5 Changed plugs, serpentine, t-stat (due to leaking coolant) (Me)
30-Oct *first stall* stalled on the way home from work, coasting or minimal throttle through turn took a few tries to start, first time
12-Nov stalled at take off from stop light, took a few tries to start
16-Nov ignition switch changed (Dealer)
4-Dec stalled at slow speed, right after pressing accelerator, warmed up, started right up
7-Dec stalled at slow speed take off from stop light, started right up
6-Dec pcm flashed (Dealer)
10-Dec stalled at idle, already warmed up
11-Dec stalled cruising at 35 up hill, restarted with no key action, warmed up, drove another 30 miles, 1 hour with no issue, half tank, p0884
12-Dec stalled after leaving house at idle at stop light, not fully to temp yet
14-Dec stalled at idle coasting to parking spot at royal farms
15-Dec disconnected evap purge solenoid (me in an attempt to rule out EVAP)
23-Dec stalled at idle at stop light, 534 miles since last stall
24-Dec 3/4 tank fill up
24-Dec stalled coasting at 45 on highway while in tow/haul, neutral, key off then start
24-Dec stalled again at speed with accelerator pressed, 30mph, kicked back on
27-Dec installed new evap cannister (Me)
3-Jan stalled taking off from stop, started right up, codes P0688 and P0884, had driven 30 miles on highway to work, stalled just before parking, 260 miles since last stall and installing evap canniser
3-Jan stalled at speed under power, engine kicked back on, 3 miles after last stall
3-Jan Check gauges light came on, engine ran cold, gauge did not go above C, cooling fan reved high, parked, turned off and back on, gauges back to normal, started fine, checked oil, was low, added a quart
3-Jan stalled at 50MPH, with minimal accelerator pressure down hill, kicked back on, 25 miles after last stall
3-Jan stalled at stop light, started right back up, 18 miles after last stall

At this point I'm throwing parts at it since it seems that's all the dealer will do (or the dealer I've been using anyway)

Next steps
- Replace Crank position sensor
- Replace EGR Valve
- Replace MAP sensor
- Replace Cam position sensor
- check Transfluid level
- Replace PCV
- Replace IAT sensor

All told this should be about $180 in parts and shipping.

This has me so freaking pissed, I finally get a vehicle I really like, not just one that I had to settle for. It suits my needs perfectly for towing and commuting plus its (was) a joy to drive. Now it just plain won't work and is unsafe.

So I'll try all these parts, maybe one more trip to a different dealer then it's probably adios. I can't have two kids in a vehicle that will randomly cut out on me.

THIS SUCKS!!!!

Trade that jeep and get some safe.

I'm no mechanic but have you tried checking your fuel filter? Seems like it stalls after pressing the gas pedal. Also do you have a scanner that you can hook up to see live data and try to catch the code if it throws one when it stalls? Have you changed gas stations lately? Maybe your getting bad gas??? Hope my insight helps

I had a problem with erratic idling and engine rpm. It caused a stall once whiIe going up hill at low speed. It started throwing the 406 code for the EGR so I replaced the EGR valve today and so far the performance is MUCH improved. Smooth idle and no more erratic rpms. It also helped rid my engine of this weird studdering feel around 40mph.

All good comments and recommendations above. Frank, aside for all the things you've just done (which IMO is not bad with your mileage), and aside from the FSM troubleshooting steps you may use, for giggles I'd hook up a temporary light to the active side of the ASD relay. This should be done in such a way that the light is on when the engine is (or suppose to be) running. If you experience a stall and the light stays on, you'll be relatively certain it is NOT an electrical issue, at least in the ASD circuit. If the light goes off when it stalls, you'll know where to start looking. You can do the same with the fuel pump relay. I think, on any of these stalling problems, isolation of fuel or ignition should be done. It'll at least give you a little better idea of where to focus your attention.

Coop, based on past posts by others, I won't be taking your bet. At least you'll have a nice new PCM.

^^ don't ask the quesion I asked you yesterday hahah...wow bummer on this guys, GL with getting your rigs fixed

I feel your pain Coop mine did that once on the freeway too...totally went dead except for the radio...no power steering and brakes @ 80mph in traffic is no bueno

Trade it in for an SRT.

I hope you're not paying for all of this.

Get a really good deal on an SRT and trade it. :D

Glad I didn't take the bet. I did figure it would work at least until you got it home. I think I am going to quit partaking in these stalling threads. I am starting to fear that the "stall bug" may jump off the screen and infect my WK....knock on wood it won't. Coop, once you get it all worked out, you shouldn't have any problems reinstalling your CMR tune. Good luck and everyone with the problem, keep us posted.

Did they replace the engine harness or atleast check the ASD relay power wire as it has 1 (3-way) splice inbetween the PCM and the ASD?

If this wire has an issue your Jeep will die.

You can also by-pass the PCM's control of the ASD relay to rule out the PCM or the command wire mentioned above.

I would look at the wiring from the PCM to the ASD relay. There is a 3 way splice in there. I would also look at how the wiring is tucked under the fuse blocks in the engine compartment and also how that unit is grounded (the bolts that hold it down).

Did they by-pass the PCM's control of the ASD relay?
