Re: Badly in need of assistance

No problem, it came with the NAG1 transmission then. That transmission will stay in its last gear at the moment a problem arrises and it goes into limp mode. So that could explain the very slow acceleration from the stop sign, it was maybe in 4th or 5th gear. Indeed by switching the ignition to off, the limp mode can be reset, depending on what the fault is. But as soon as the fault returns, it will go into limp mode again and stay in the gear it was when it happened until again switching ignition off/on.

Re: Badly in need of assistance

I bought this reader from amazon for 20 bucks. I've read codes on 4 different cars with no problem. It can also reset CELs. I've used it to be sure my O2 sensors are working properly as well as track gas mileage, etc. It's a great tool!

Just buy one, I think it's prime, you'll have it Saturday.

Amazon.com: BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light & diagnostics - Android ONLY: Automotive
If you get it, download the Torque app for Android or Itunes. Works seemlessly with that reader, it's recommended by the reader manufacturer.

Re: Badly in need of assistance

Had the same thing happen with mine (2006 3.7L) about 2 years ago, had to replace the tcm on the tranny fortunately had an honest trans shop that did it and trans fluid change. Also had seals replaced during the service too. Never got a code until it got REALLY bad. Would happen, I'd pull over turn it on & off and seemed to go away for awhile, but towards the end, it was doing it constantly that's when the CEL came on. I think he said the tcm had some codes in to when he checked it, just cant remember....

Just something to consider....its was infuriating while trying to drive and it just wouldn't move.

Good luck!
