Its cold outside. Havent had heat for two years. I looked up a few easy fixes but none worked. changed the resistor and nothing. so ive heard it could be the control panel. everything works just doesnt blow. thanks for anyone who has ideas.
checking fuse within the hour. for some more background.........the fan would come one intermittent and if you would smack on the dash it would start to kick up full speed. sometimes wouldnt come on at all, you could just leave it turned up and it would just kick on. ANYMORE questions feel free to ask and i can give more details to get this thing working. its cold in the chi lol!!!!!!
On the WJ this happens quite often due to bad contact of the connector with the controller. The connector melts away and finally the fan stops completely. Have a look at the connector on the blower motor.
i got in there and looked at everything. connectors are all clean and even the resistor i took out looked fine. not burnt or anything. im pretty sure its the motor because it was making noises and it always kinda seemed like it was jammed. can i get a link on how to remove the blower without taking off the whole dash? it really looks like i have to pull the whole dash.
UPDATE: Blower motor is out. i checked it with a plug i have laying around. hooked it all up and it didnt spin. shouldn't it turn on no matter what if it works? dunno but im replacing it. thanks for the help and any added comments are helpful and appreciated.
looks like it was the blower motor. i had checked the fuse and when i had the old one out i just ran like a stripped down three prong that i use for commercial coffee brewers lol. it didnt turn on so i bought a new motor. i wish i woulda known it was this easy years ago. i thought i would have to take off the whole dash! not the case. motor just drops out. thanks all for the help.
