Broken Piece on Throttle Body

so I just noticed as I was installing my new throttle body that this piece is broken.

from what I gather, it's a safety mechanism, and it stays slacked all the time unless the core was to completely malfunction. am I going to be in any danger driving without this? I can't rightly tell.

thanks for the help in advance guys

Re: Broken Piece on Throttle Body

just kidding it's the cruise control. I'm going to drop a screw in there that's the same size to latch to the cable. doesn't seem like it could pose any threat since its exactly the same measurement as the plastic piece, and I'll trust metal over plastic any day.
