Check out this F'ed up trans filter

Finally decided to address TSB 21-007-06 on the wife's '06 JGC hemi, 73k miles.

SUBJECT:
RFE Transmission Filters - Delayed Engagement And Related Transmission DTC'S

Look at this trans filter. It's an OE filter. Holy Sheet ! been sucking unfiltered earl.

Also changed out the cooler return filter with an AC suffix part.

what's the moral of the story ? Don't neglect the trans.

Note: Was a bitch getting two of the trans pan bolts back in (next to CAT) with a 1/4" drive & universal. Gotta go slow with those babies so as not to cross thread em.

Re: Check out this F'ed up trans filter

Oh, and changing the filters didn't fix the leak down of the converter. The TSB is all BS, and I'm sure Chrysler knows it. Any links to the fix of the checkvalve ?

Re: Check out this F'ed up trans filter

They should replace both filters with the newer part #s as part of the regular transmission service, around $200 where I am.

Re: Check out this F'ed up trans filter

Transmission slow engagement redux.

Trans was still leaked-down in the morn.. Decided to do another filters and fluid change after 20k+ miles. Now at 90k. The suction filter was split again !!!???? I don't recall, but I believe I did OEM filters previously, they had the chrysler logo.

Edit: reviewing my post I did indeed use OE filters. Well, at least I'm getting frequent trans fluid changes . sigh...
