Re: Clunks while shifting and at low speeds!

i'm having the same issues, taking it to the garage tomorrow to have it checked out. I am feeling a clunk when i let off the gas when i'm traveling at low speeds.

Re: Clunks while shifting and at low speeds!

I had that problem when i bought it, i took it back to the dealer and they replaced something...it was a few years ago, i'm not sure what it was.

Did you change just one or all 3? if only 1, which one? the very front one,on the diff cover (the easy one)? if that was bad, I'd bet the others are worse.

Re: Clunks while shifting and at low speeds!

Probably the torque converter, I think it is common for our jeeps to shift hard in stop in go type traffic...very annoying

Re: Clunks while shifting and at low speeds!

I changed the one in the front and the other one on the top of diff near to TC, the last one i did not change as it looks fine! by the way I noticed slight movemnet of front diff while shift changing, is this suppose to be fine or diff should not move at all?

Re: Clunks while shifting and at low speeds!

there will be some movement as the bushings are rubber. how loud is it? there will be a faint "thud" when put in gear as there is a certain amount of slack in everything. any vids?
