Cold air intake problem

Just recently put on a cold air intake and I left the vacuum hose out thinking it probably wouldn't case any problems but I'm seeing oil leak from the hose and above the catalytic converter. Does anyone kno what I blew or what's happening. Let me know asap!

Re: Cold air intake problem

More information would help. What year and motor?

As a first guess, I'm thinking you removed the hose for the PCV valve. Sometimes, (especially if the valve is not functioning properly) you can have oil come out via the PCV valve.

Since you have removed this tube, it will probably come out somewhere else (and perhaps where you describe).

Additionally, your crankcase is now getting unfiltered air, which probably isn't a good thing.

I would check to make sure the PCV is functioning properly, and then find a way to have filtered air introduced back into the system.
