Re: Coolant Leak - Can't Find Source!

I'm a newbie around here, but I've been in engine compartments since I was young, The easiest, and safest way is the pressure tester.

Re: Coolant Leak - Can't Find Source!

One more note check the rating on your radiator cap, and try not going much higher than the rating while trying to reproduce the leak.

Re: Coolant Leak - Can't Find Source!

The Petcock is not the worst suggestion, since the airstream while driving can distribute the water all over the place.
Since that one is pretty easy to check, just give it a try!

Good Luck

I've never messed with the petcock on my radiator because I've heard horror stories of them cracking and breaking off. The last thing I need to do is JB-Weld up my radiator...

Re: Coolant Leak - Can't Find Source!

I noticed a leak yesterday, and when i climbed under the front end, i can see it leaking from the drivers side, but i cant tell from where. Its cold and I have to work tomorrow, so I just took it to the shop for them to figure out.

Its not the upper rad hose, not the pet cock, not the rad cap, not the water pump, not the thermostat...so im thinking the radiator itself might have developed a leak. I have 93k on the clock, so anything is possible I guess.

Sounds like the weeping hole on the water pump, which indicates that it needs to be replaced. Mine had those same intermittent symptoms when my water pump went out. If you end up replacing it, stick with the OEM parts. They're basically the best water pump if you've got the HEMI.
