Re: cooler line

Is this for a WJ or the WK in you sig? Either way that is a good chunk to pay unless you can not replace the lines yourself.

Re: cooler line

If your talking about the trans cooler lines. They are not to bad to do, but becareful not to kink them. I replaced mine when I upgraded my trans.

Kinda a PIA cause they have so many bends in them to fit around other parts.

If you have access to a lift and can work on cars you shouldn't cuss to much doing it yourself.

Re: cooler line

Should not be too hard to do as long as you are mechanicly inclined. You will need a special tool to remove the cooler lines as they have a spring loaded retainer holding them on. (tool 8875A) These seem to sell for ($60 to $85 range) Does anyone know where to purchase this tool alittle cheaper or can you remove the fittings a different way.

Re: cooler line

Leaking trans cooler lines are one of the most common problems with the WK, along with broken front diff mounts and worn sway bar end links,...which all seem to happen with WK's by around 40k miles. It's a PITA to do the lines without a lift.

x2

When my cooler lines first leaked, I tried to do it myself first. I found it difficult to snake the hard-lines through where they needed to go while lying underneath.

That's one job I don't mind spending the cost of labor on!
