Thumbs up Cruise control issues...

Hi guys, I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee with a cruise issue im trying to narrow down without throwing parts at it.
1. Cruise wont work, and light wont come on.
2. DTC codes are:
-P0582
Speed Control Vacuum Solenoid Circuit
An open or shorted condition detected in speed control Vacuum solenoid control circuit.
-P0586
Speed Control Vent Solenoid Circuit
An open or shorted condition detected in speed control vent solenoid control circuit.

I have checked:
1. All vacuum lines, they are in great shape (motor is too clean).
2. Plugs.
3. Just ordered a Brake light switch (was only 18.00)

It just stopped working. Doesn't work at all now, not even sometimes.

Any input would be helpful guys!

Re: Cruise control issues...

This forum is horrible compared to Jeepforum and Wranglerforum. I figured out the issue this morning. Thanks for all the help/responses.

Re: Cruise control issues...

Thanks for your wonderful attitude and patience

You get what you pay for on forums. Sometimes people will know exactly how to help you out, other times people will have no special insight into your specific problem.

If you want someone to drop what they are doing and fix your problem for you at a moment's notice take it to a repair shop and pay someone.

It's not a question of good vs. bad forums, but rather having the right person read your post at the right time.

If you had more than a single post before you passed judgement on this forum, you would see, in general everyone here is very nice and willing to help a fellow jeep enthusiast out.

I donīt think that guy is going to respond, he joined JG in June 2013 and after his third post didnīt had the patience to post again. What a pitty that we lost such a valuable member that soon.

Regarding your problem, it most of the time is the brake pedal switch. The brake lights can still work ok, because it uses an other set of contacts inside the switch.
