Re: dealership broke my jeep
I had an issue once with a dealer similar to that. I had had my diff serviced in my GMC truck. At the time I was splitting my living time between N Texas (sherman) and central Texas (Kileen). Anyways I had the truck serviced in Sherman and proceeded to drive down to Kileen. When i got a little south of Dallas I started hearing some grinding or growling noises, By the time I got to Killeen it was so bad I contemplated pulling the rear driveshaft and driving in on the front wheels (I know the diff would still spin my thought was that there would not be any load on it). I took it to a quick lube type of place because the dealer was closed. There was absolutley no fluid in the pumpkin. To make things worse the truck rolled over 36,000 miles on the trip down. I took the truck to the dealership in Killeen with my envoice and explained the whole thing. They started giving me this story about how they were not going to fix it because it was something that the other dealership had done and told me to take it to them. I proceeded to tell them that I didn't care that the other dealership did it last time i checked it said GMC on the truck and it said GMC on the fronts of both dealership buildings. After it was apparent that the service manger was not going to help I politely asked her for the phone number for corporate. she told me she didn't have time to look for it. I then asked the receptionist if I could borrow the phone. I swear on my life the next part is true. I called 411 and asked the operator to connect me to GMC truck division Detroit Michigan. She connected me and after talking to the operator there I was connected to a person. They asked me what my problem was and asked me how they could fix it. Next thing I know this guy asks to speak to the service manger. Shortly after that they took my truck apologized for my inconvenience asked me if there was anything else I wanted them to look at and gave me a brand new off the lot loaded Z71 as a loaner. 2 days later I got my truck back. I think the service manager was more shocked than I was that I actually called 411 for the corporate phone number and I actually got someone on the line.
