Hello.
I have alot of water in the passenger footwell of my 2005 WK. It is a RHD and I am in the UK. I have peeled back the carpet and the underlay is soaked. The carpet/underlay that runs up the side of the transmission tunnel is perfectly dry - I have read about the A/C drainage tube issue and the related fix of drilling a hole behind the A/C pipes up by the glove box/centre console but I am wondering whether if that is my problem then the carpet/underlay in that area on the side of the transmission tunnel or under the glovebox should be wet - but it isnt - see photo where the dry underlay is shown a much lighter colour.
Anyway from the engine bay side I can see some dampness where some pipes enter the cabin - not sure what those pipes are.
We have had persistent heavy rain here and I have been though some deep puddles so maybe that is it. I am going to cut out the soaked underlay, dry out the carpet and floor then drive around for a few days with the floor exposed to see if the water returns.
I should add I do not have a sunroof so I dont have that known drainage issue. By the way I cannot find any drainage holes in the floor, and neither can i find where the AC drains from under the car so I can poke some wire in to see if there is a blockage - maybe it drains into the frame so it is inaccessible?
Any ideas would be much appreciated. by the way, anyone know what the curved black plastic cover thing is on the floor - see photo?
thanks
steve
