egr problem?

My 08 4.7 Limited sometimes stumbles when accelerating in the 40-60mph range. The traction control light comes on when this happens. I have 60,000 mi. & am thinking my egr valve may be the problem. How hard is it to replace this on a 4.7?
Thanks

Re: egr problem?

Stumbles? Is it a hesitation? If so there is a TSB about a hesitation in that speed range. Don't know if this is your problem, but you can check out the TSB.

Re: egr problem?

Thanks for the tip on the TSB--that's similar to what it's doing and in that speed range. It feels like the engine's missing a little, but it could be the hesitation the TSB talks about.

Re: egr problem?

I had this TSB done while I had it in for 30K service. You will definitely tell a difference in the way the Jeep accelerates. I have to be careful though because it seems that my overall MPG is affected. Gotta take the foot off of that gas pedal
