ESP Question, HELP!

Whats the different between pressing the Traction control button for 1 second compared to pressing it for 7 to 8 seconds? Reason Im asking is because when I press it for a second the traction control light comes on in the dash;however, when I press and hold it down for 7-8 seconds, the traction control lights comes accompanied by a signal "ESP off".

Can someone tell me the difference, if any, of what I am doing here?

Would either way help me getter better performance times, or do they both accomplish the same tasks?

Just wondering, because I have seen some people with ESP off.

Thanks

Re: ESP Question, HELP!

Unless you have some wheelspin now i would say no it wont improve your times. And if you are out street racing regularly the esp might save your ass if you have to make an evasive manuever to avoid hitting someone.

Re: ESP Question, HELP!

Yeah that link you posted pretty much explains it all. I agree with what Bikermobile said regarding performance. I would just press it once unless you're offroad or something and need it completely off.
