Evap issues on my 07 wk

I just bought this 2007 wk about 3-1/2 weeks ago. Everything fine then filled the tank. At about 1/2 a tank MIL came on. Code p0456, sent it back to the dealer and they smoke tested it (passed no leak found at all) reset code and gave it back to me. Next time I filled it everything fine again 1/2 tank MIL back on sent it back to dealer (w/ 1/2 tank in it) another passed smoke test. So they did a "relearn" procedure and gave it back. All fine filled the tank back up just got back down to a 1/2 tank and I bet you can't guess.... MIL BACK ON. at my wits end, anyone else have similar issues or solutions? Again it's a 07 wk with 3.7l v6

Re: Evap issues on my 07 wk

I just fixed this issue on my 05 Hemi WK. I had a check engine light and a "check gas cap" light.

I highly suggest you double check your hoses. I took off my rear drivers sides wheel and fender liner and found this while under the Jeep...

Replaced the hose, cleared codes (check engine light went away) and "check gas cap" a went away a day later (after computer re-learned somethings!)

So I would start with that. Hope it helps.

The esim is mounted on the charcoal canister... 9 times out of 10 when you get an evap leak with no actual leak, that is the problem. Not sure why they dont know that... Furthermore I suggest a pressure test over the smoke to deturmine if its leaking or not.

Re: Evap issues on my 07 wk

Thanks everyone! I have checked all the hoses myself (didn't trust dealer) and didn't find anything. However I keep hearing about the ESIM so now it's a matter of making sure the dealer fixes that component being I just bought it. In my travels with this I did hear that Chrysler has a "hidden warranty" for all emissions above federal for 5 years 50k miles. Doesn't apply to me as its covered anyway but pass it along if you ever hear anyone else talking about any evap issues.

Where did you hear that? I have never heard of this before and I work at a dealer.

The 5yr 50k warranty mentioned on that website IS the federal 8yr 80k warranty, NOT in addition to or on top of. It specifically states that it can be longer on newer vehicles, it is, 8-80 this warranty covers very few items (those started in the link) and really nothing else, an evap leak or evap system repair is not covered by it.
