hi all, first post, recently purchased a wk 2005 3.0 ltr crd limited(uk model),on turning the ignition key when the vehicle is cold the evic displays transmission over temp for a split second then disapears,it never comes on whilst driving.i also get the service park assist message now and then which disables the system until the next ignition cycle, this can happen when i put it into reverse or can just come up whilst driving, should i be worried about this?,apart from these faults the jeep seems to start and run fine,no problems shifting and no boxes appearing around the pnrd display, any help/advice would be appreciated

just an update, took jeep to dealer today, they hooked it up to the computer and said that there is an update for the transmission that will clear the transmission over temp warning, they are going to update it in the next couple of weeks when they get their new system in ?,the service park assist turned out to be a wiring issue under the drivers seat,so hopefully problem resolved ,but i'll wait and see before putting the wallet back in my pocket:)

hi,just got jeep back from dealers, there were 5 updates done,,they didnt say what the updates were but they seem to have fixed the service 4wd message that was coming up,however still get a transmission over temp warning on start up,i dont know what is causing it,there are no codes coming up and jeep is running fine, did you have any luck ?

I dunno if luck is the right word, as Jeep said they've never seen so many codes on one car. They flushed the codes and that alone removed the 'tran over temp' at start warning. No changes to gearbox software, just cleared the codes.

Of course it died around the corner with an EGR fault, but that's another story.
