Exhaust smoking

OK, everybody this is the thing you never want to see, at start up exhaust smokes for a few minutes, then goes away as soon as you start to drive. When driving and go to WOT you smell oil burning, you don't smell any just driving around or under normal accelerating only at WOT. I got a 2010 Limited 5.7 with 56,000 on it. . I use 5w20 mobile 1 full synthetic, change it when ever the light comes on usually around 5000 miles.

Catch can basically cathes the oil that the PCV valve misses before it is fed back into your engine via the intake manifold (I believe)

The catch can install is super, super easy. There is a million threads on this forum about it.

Billet Technology Signature Series Jeep SRT/8 Catch Can (2006-2010)

You will have to make a different mounting bracket, again there are threads on this forum that show how.

It's totally worth it, I had a lot of oil in mine after only 1000 miles. Amd when I initially cleaned my Throttle Body it was filthy!!! Now it stays nice and clean!

Re: Exhaust smoking

Just to add some more oil to the fire, if the crankcase ventilation from the PCV valve enters the air inlet duct after the throttle body (as is on my WJ), then a catch can in the PCV line will not do anything to the cleanliness of the throttle body. There is most probably an other ventilation line going from the heads to a point in between the air filter and throttle body, where ventilation air with oil particles will enter and leave an oil film in the throttle body and ducts.
The catch can will prevent that (most of) the oil which is in the breather air from the PCV, will be burned and cause carbon buildup on valve stems and cylinder heads/pistons.
