Exhaust Temp Help!

Does anyone else have issues with the 5.7 WK exhaust temp being extremely hot at the tips? I have had my exhaust with tips for about a month and a half now and one of the tips get really hot! its a Y pipe into 2 tips through the center and for some reason the other side barely gets warm when driving. You can tell which one gets hot because the tip is staining yellow and I am forced to polish it every time I was the vehicle to restore the finish.

Re: Exhaust Temp Help!

if someone built the Y it probably doesnt get = flow through both sides. alot of shops just put a hole for some exh. to get through, but it is most likely uneven. My tips get discolored too, it's a pain.

Yea its a custom job from a local exhaust shop around here. did a good job on it but his Y that he build obviously isnt tuned for the exhaust to flow evenly on both sides. Is it true that gojo helps remove the tarnished yellowing of the tips?

mine is like that as well,it gets more soot and discoloring on one side then the other, but the other does get enough to get pretty damn hot though

I haven't heard or tried the gojo. If you do, let us know.

Re: Exhaust Temp Help!

Yeah, the exhaust does run hot. I don't have a Hemi , but my OBD2 link is showing 800 - 900 degrees at idle. Pulling a hill, I routinely see 1500 - 1600 degrees.
