Flipper glass & Sunglass compartment

Hey! So the button that opens the flipper glass on my liftgate does not work... Stopped working just out of the blue.
I can open it with the button on the keyfob so I don't think it's a fuse or could I be wrong??

The other thing that happened was that a friend of mine, some how detatched the sunglass compartment that is up in the headliner console..
I tried to re attach it. It closes fine, but it's like opening up waaaay too slow. Like there's a spring missing or something.
I turned on the black little cog up there and it spins and moves in a braked manner. Don't really know how it's supposed to function..

Any ideas???

For the lift gate it's a similar system as when you open a hood probably some WD40 will help

For the sunglasses compartment there is a sort spring to open it
