Flipper glass rattles, how to tighten latch?

Near as I can tell, the latch holding the flipper glass closed isn't maintaining the same grab as new, and the glass rattles when going over bumps. It still works and does catch the glass, and the glass doesn't appear to be allowing any leaks.

Is there a way to adjust this without removing the entire inside panel of the liftgate?

Or is the only adjustment done up at the hinges where the glass is held to the liftgate? That's what the service manual PDF seems to indicate.

Re: Flipper glass rattles, how to tighten latch?

OK, finally got around to trying to fix this. The hinges at the top are 10mm and there wasn't enough adjustment there to lift the glass. Nor was there enough via the bolts from the inside (T20 torx head). I tried several ways to adjust it and nothing seemed to matter.

What worked was to add a pair of rubber bumpers to the underside of the glass. This keeps them just a few millimeters farther away from the body. I had a set of four rubber feet that came with a network router. Probably no more than 3/8" tall. I placed them at the bottom/outside corners, as to avoid moving the glass too far away from the window gasket. I don't need to trade one problem for another...

So if you hear a rattle from the flipper glass, look closely at the bottom edge where it meets the rear hatch. If you see scuffs to the hatch paint from the glass then some bumpers could help.
