Re: Fr diff concern?? Elsd, qd ii

So I found an old post on another forum and this guy recommended changing the t-case fluid and adding a little friction modifier. I did just that, and went out and did figure 8's in the cul-de-sac for like 10 minutes. I was able to make the noise go away completely! Unbelievable.. I would have never guessed the t-case. I was convinced the problem was solely in the front diff. May not be the same results for you but you might want to give it a shot. Hopefully tomorrow the noise will still be gone!

I'm sure all types of QT had viscous clutches in them. (t-case)

t case was my thought also, since you have full time 4wd but purely a guess on my part totally uneducated but was thinking that since the case is what determines where power is sent (i think) LOL

Yes!! Noise gone since Wednesday, with no sign of returning. I will def. return with an update in a few days.. in the meantime try changing yours dude, it was cheaper than the front diff even though the fluid is MOPAR from the dealer. In case you don't know, 2 quarts of NV245/247/249 fluid, and I added 2/3 bottle of friction modifier, although it doesn't expressly call for it.
