Front end noise - help

Hey people, hoping you can help me out.

I have intermittent sound coming from the front end. Only happens when hitting rough road/potholes but not all the time. The sound is like metal hitting metal. I put the car on a lift and everything seems tight. I tried moving the wheels but all the joints seems ok.

Any ideas? Appreciate your help.

Ps the wk has the 3.7 and has 49k miles on it. I haven't replaced any suspension or bushings yet.

They don't have to be leaking to be shot.

I don't know what the best method is to check them today. I did it the old school way... the bounce test.

How are your front tires wearing... any excessive wear or cupping (jagged) on the inside or outside treads ribs?

I suggested checking the shocks due to it sounding like it's bottoming out against the stops.

But you say it's more of a metal to metal sound. If you can't detect any metal to metal rub marks when you're underneath looking at it then maybe you have a loose part banging around somewhere?
