Re: Gas mileage FAIL

Would injector cleaner be another thing we should be looking at to improve MPG's? Everyone talks about replacing components and which fuel to run, but wouldn't injector cleaner be a good step to take as well?

I know what happen to the mpg, your battery was unplugged for some time during repair the computer will need to learn your driving habits. I put a new battery in my 05 last week my mpg is going back up give it some time it will return.

i just run some e-85 to clean my shit out and watch my afr's and knock works like a charm

I do mostly city driving, and with my winter tires ive been trending around 12 miles to the gallon........going through about a tank a week right now............

Yup, I run injector cleaner about every 5k, and only run top tier 89 oct.
IF you run 87 oct, or grade B gas (speedway, clark, walmart, diamond shamrock, sinclair, etc..) they do not have the advanced formulations the big guys do, to help keep injectors and valves cleaner. I formerly sold benchtop to high vac pilot plant distillation systems to refineries, visited them all, and there is a big difference in the final products.
