Re: Girlfriends WK Rant! Help!

I saw an odd series of things on the history of my jeep that sound like frame damage but the carfax didn't show any accidents. I haven't talked to the dealer about those yet but if I'd be interested to see what happens with yours. The rear driver side on my jeep is slightly skewed. The rear door doesn't line up with the front or the panel behind it. The rear quarter panel rubs the panel above it (chipped paint) and that corner of the liftgate rubs the bumper.

I really don't know what all is required for something to show up on carfax. If an accident is never claimed with police or insurance I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't show up.

Re: Girlfriends WK Rant! Help!

Like oldgeezer said some states make mandatory guidelines. I would call up the most reputable dealer in your area, usually Mercedes dealers are very good. Ask them if there is any kind of state law that protects the buyer. Usually if there is one it's for 30 days. Lemon laws become difficult on used cars, but I believe there is a few states that cover them. Before you threaten legal action I would call up your salesperson and discuss the issues they agreed to repair, record that conversation.

Re: Girlfriends WK Rant! Help!

Quick story. When considering the purchase of the vehicle, my wife and I were hesitating and the General manager "stopped by" to help the process along. At this point, we were offered "150$ detail", first oil change on their dime(not confirmed), and "free" inspection". Inspection was completed but awaiting confirmation of other offers. I can guarantee you that the delivered vehicle did not have the "150$ ultimate detail". Really discusted with the runaround and understand why dealing with a dealer is a PITAS. FYI-I paid cash for the vehicle and :felt no love-LOL". If I need to purchase in the future, how about some tips where I might have gone wrong? Thanks.

Re: Girlfriends WK Rant! Help!

Well the dealer agreed to let her swap it out for something else she likes. We're going to take a slight loss with taxes and stuff but it's better than paying a couple thousand in car repairs!

She is dead set on another WK, so hopefully they have something on the lot.

Re: Girlfriends WK Rant! Help!

Just a little update... We drove a couple things but she is so dead set on another Jeep. Right now we are test driving an 04 Limited with 69k on the clock. Hopefully it checks out! I ALMOST like this thing as much as my WK!

As for the stalling/gauge symptom look into your ignition switch.

Oddly, just got a call today, my jeeps been at the dealer since 8/22. After two weeks they found a bad Transmission Control Module, its gonna be another week before they get the part in and installed. I have a feeling that it's not going to fix my problems and its gonna go back to them in a couple days after i pick it up.

Re: Girlfriends WK Rant! Help!

So... driving by Crown Jeep today they either have a (midnight?) blue srt jeep on the lot or at least one with an srt front bumper.... scratch that, I stopped being lazy

Crown Jeep has an SRT 2008... they list it as Gray. wkjeeps.com says it's either Steel Blue or Modern Blue.

I was looking at it the other day.

Stay away from that dealership. Seriously. Both my girlfriend, my dad, and myself have had horrible experiences there. I will NEVER be going back to that dealer again.
