Grand Cherokee no start

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee; 3.7 V6; 37,000 miles.
Intermittent no start issue, becoming a more frequent occurrence. Sometimes it starts immediately, but very often there seems to be no connection with the starter. No click of a solenoid, just a slight click I think from the relay in the Power Distribution Center. Several times, 2 or 3 seconds after I released the key from the start position the starter engaged and the engine started immediately. On two occasions after the engine had been running for a few seconds the starter engaged again resulting in the obvious grinding of the starter drive. Seems like a delayed connection by the computer.
Anyone had any such experience???

Re: Grand Cherokee no start

Check your battery terminals, make sure they are good and tight and have no corrosion on them. Also check the voltage of the battery at rest and while running. Below is where you should be at, if your not then maybe look into replacing the battery.

- At rest: 12-12.5v
- Running: 13.5v - 14.4v

Re: Grand Cherokee no start

Also check your key fob. The car may not be recognizing the the chip in the key fob. You can reset the key fob to the jeep.
