Over the last year, the lower door hinges on my 2008 Grand Cherokee have began to rust. The front worse than the rear. Anyone else had this problem or is it a common problem? Of course my corrosion warranty is now expired. Any suggestions on a fix without having to remove the doors? I've attached a couple of photos.

Shoot some WD-40 on the hinges (all four doors)...it appears to only be surface rust. You could also get some grease and put on it. Once its sprayed or greased. Move the door back and forth numerous times...don't close it...just take it from the full open position to the almost closed position and then back to full open about 8-10 times and then shoot it again with WD-40 or grease...grease is better. Then once a month do it again. Also shoot some grease or WD-40 into the door latch on the door itself then open and close the door about 5-7 times this will make the door work much smoother.
Also look at the bottom of the doors (see pic) there is a small oval hole...shoot some WD-40 in that hole until it runs out the front of the door where theres another hole....do this for all four doors. I'm talking about the very bottom of the door...this will help keep them from rusting out...they actually rust from the inside out because water lays in there. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply fellas, I'm actually suprised that the WD40 worked. I was skeptical because I was like... how would this physically stop my door from pinching onto the fender? Suprisingly enough, it worked, however there is still a noticeable sag/gap, I assume this isn't a long term strategy? or should I be fine.

Also, would brake/caliper grease work just as well? (I have that on hand)

WK2OVERLANDII i even WD-40'd the "door hole" as you pictured. Maybe I should just close that hole or plug it up with something lol

Thanks fellas!

So, your issue is that the door is sagging and is hitting the fender? Can you physically lift the door up and down and see the movement in the hinge? If so then the hinge may be shot. I dont know if the chrysler hinges can be repaired or need to be replaced as a unit. I had this problem on my mustang and replacing the hinge solved the issue. In the meantime, you might be able to adjust the hinge to lift the door a bit to keep it from hitting the fender.
