How to?

I have a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado. Automatic. The dash display has the PRNDL and it can be changed to just a single letter. I note that next to the D is the number of the gear the transmission is in, but it is gray and does not light up. If in S mode, I do get the individual gears to light up, but can;t find how to light up the gear in the standard letter mode.

I went to the Driver Information and found a feature that says show Gear. I put yes on, but the gear number still does not light up. Can't find much in the owners manual on the Driver Information system.

I do towing of a small travel trailer and find knowing what gear I am in to be very helpful.

Re: How to?

When in auto mode, the EVIC shows a large D with a subtle gray gear number next to it. The only time you have large numbers is when you are in manual mode (using the paddle shifters). We have complained about this in the past. It would be nice for Jeep to improve on this.

Re: How to?

Thanks. There are a lot of things I like about our Keep, but also a few I don't like and Jeep does not seem to care to address.
