Hydraulic Fan Hose?

I've notice a few spots of fluid on my garage floor over the past few months every now and again. The spots are only there at initial start up. Never any dripping. I thought it was antifreeze at first. I saw there was fluid on one of the hoses under the Jeep but near the front. When I wiped it, the fluid was green so I knew it wasn't my orange antifreeze. It looks like this line runs into the hyrdaulic fan. Can anyone elaborate more on this. Where can I get a new hose. How to repair it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Hydraulic Fan Hose?

I believe that hose goes from the fan to the bottom of the pump. I am unsure of aftermarket options for this hose but obviously the dealer has the hose. I have replaced a couple of them myself.

Re: Hydraulic Fan Hose?

A common problem up front (on the passenger side) is the trans. cooler lines seeping and eventually beginning to leak. Sometimes they'll drip on to other hoses. Be sure to wipe and flush everything clean and then monitor. I had that for about 25K (kept an eye on it though)until I finally figured I should fix it. Pain in the arse to get trans. cooler lines in/out. I had the hoses rebuilt by the local hydraulic equipment shop. Cost was about ~$20 vs. ~$200 for new ones from the stealer. If it's coming from the fan, it's fluid source is shared with the power steering reservoir, so check the level to see if it's a little low. Let us know what you come up with.
