Same sh!t hapenned to me twice !! Doesnt happen long enough for getting a diagnostic. It makes me feel like the ignition switch is going bad but it could be anything.
Ignition switch can cause some weird things, but all the lamps coming on and the gauges freaking out would lead me more towards a communication problem, circuit integrity, likely a connection somewhere. If you can do the key dance (search "key dance" on the forum if you dont know what it is) and find out what codes are in the pcm, that may be somewhat helpful.
When my ignition switch was bad, symptoms basically when you are driving, it appears like you are repeatedly turning off and on your Jeep. Instrument cluster will turn off and on but you still can drive the vehicle as normal. If this sounds like what is happening to you, it is more than likely the switch that is your culprit.
What have you change exactly ? Because mine definately feels like what you explained.
Have you change the ignition (part where the key gets into) or the sensor behind ?
This was completed under warranty by a jeep dealer for me. But it is the component behind the cylinder. Please see this informative post by a fellow Jeep Garage friend, Rob (robpp), on the Jeeps Unlimited page located here --> http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4730592&postcount=2
