Re: Idle issues :(

I'd suggest not throwing anymore money at it. Take it to the dealership, have them check your trans fluid and make sure your pcm is up to date. Those are steps I haven't taken that have been recommended to me.

Yeah I made an appointment for next wed for the dealer pcm check. I checked the transmission fluid level myself with the special dipstick I got from Amazon and a computer that tells me the temp of the fluid. It's at the correct level

I get that same whistle. Not sure what it is yet. Ask the dealer if you can, I'd like to know

Well I asked a mechanic who told me its the torque converter in the transmission. That might sound right but idk, il double check with the dealer on wed. More concerned with this idle issue getting fixed right now.

well i guess if it never stalls on you, its ok then. Maybe in time il just ignore it. You think the O2 sensors could cause this? Because checking my O2 sensors with a scan tool i have that tells me the voltage of each sensor, all sensors seemed to be producing the correct voltage or in the correct range which i guess is between 400-800. Mine were fluctuating but mostly in the 800s when they did.

I dunno it's interesting because since the cold has come I'm seeing higher idle. I wonder if its because more fuel is being dumped. Maybe look at temp sensor. It's on the intake tubing. O2 can def cause this if dirty but everyone always swaps out everything with no change. I've gotten use to it and it's not like the idle is rough for me. I've normally seen it a touch above 500 but with the cold I'm a solid 600

Yeah I'm starting to get use to it as well. It hasn't been too cold over here yet for me to notice a change yet so I'm still a touch above 500 at the moment. I remember after I cleaned the throttle body, some of the spray got over to the side of it that houses the iap and tps sensors so I wonder if those got messed up. I say this because before I cleaned it, it would always idle at 600rpm with the occasional serge with made me believe the throttle body needed to be cleaned. After cleaning it, it's always at 550 now. So it think I messed something up there. Well I got a used throttle body coming in tomorrow off a 07 commander so we'll see if there's any change. If not, off to the dealer wed.

Dropped it at the dealer this morning. Charged 150 for diagnostic. They said they re flashed the ecu (pcm), and said its been idling fine afterwards at its normal 600. Told me one of the mechanics drove it for 7 miles. They want me to come test drive the jeep Tom morning before I pay to make sure it's good. Sounds good so far. If this works out, got the flash thrown in with the diagnostic at no extra charge

Hmm maybe I should try the same. Interesting though it seems anything above 45 f it's a rough idle and it's been in the 30s with a smooth idle at every stop. I think I'll be taking mines in
