Shouldn't have to have it reprogrammed, you should be able to just plug it in.

Ok. Got a used one last time that had the check engine light on when I plugged it in. It was however programmed to a 07 commander previously so I'm guessing that was it. Getting a new unused one on eBay so hopefully no issues

Re: if i got a new throttle body....

If you are getting a new TB, I'd get a taper ported 85mm Modern Muscle CNC TB, and put on a BT catch can at the same time if you do not have one. The 85mm Costs just a bit more than an OEM TB, and no tuning is needed, as with an 87mm. Just unhook the battery neg terminal while doing the swap so the ECU resets. I replaced a clean stock TB with one, and it drives noticably better, more low end torque and better WOT response.
