Interior Lights Staying ON without fading out

Hi guys,
Im having an issue with my interior Lights- they always stay on!.. any ideas whats causing this?
is this a known issue for WK1's??

I'll start by asking the dumb question...

Do you have them in the locked "On" position on the control stick? I don't know what the stick is called, but the one that also controls your headlights? If you roll it forward it's locked in the ON position, rolling it back dims and then eventually clicks OFF.

Aside from the simple point above, any open door or hatch will keep the lights on longer.

I haven't heard of anyone experiencing this problem, so do not think it is a common/known issue.

Do they turn off if you switch them to the 'off' position (rotating the stalk the opposite direction that you would to turn them on all the time)?
