Is it possible

to clean out my engine from poor maintenance previously?

Based on the lack of maintenance on everything else with my Jeep prior to when I purchased it I can only assume they did not change the oil at the correct intervals either. The Jeep has 72k on it and I have had for about a year.

I have changed the oil every 3,000 miles (well took it somewhere) but I have decided it is better for my Jeep to do it myself and use better oil/filter. I ran seafoam through the booster, but not the crankcase.

Would changing my oil more frequently for a while help "clean" out my engine?

Re: Is it possible

i personally try to avoid things like that so if anyone else has has used is speak up but heres why i dont like it. hi milage engines sometimes have alot of buildup and that buildup can get come loose and not all drain and circulate around your engine or cause damage thats just my thoughts on it

That was my thinking too. I think im just gonna start checking the oil color more frequently over the next 5,000-6,000 miles and see how it looks. Maybe swap out filters at 1,500 to make sure everything stays clean.

Thanks
