Exclamation Issues with my fathers 05 WK Hemi

My father has a 05 Hemi WK... call me today and was telling me of issues he's been having with his Jeep.. Asked me to check out the forum i belong too.

while driving he loses acceleration but still has brakes and power steering the ESP light comes on and a Flashing lightning bolt appears in the cluster (22. Electronic Throttle warning light (5.7 Hemi)) now i'm a WJ guy and have no clue where to begin in telling him where to begin... he's very frustrated with the stealership as every time he takes it in he's told it could cost thousands of dollars because its this or that..

Can anyone point me in the right direction or solve my issue here..

thank you

Hire often does it happen? Also there should be codes in the pcm, if you could get those it would be helpful. I have had one with a loose pin in the pcm that caused similar problems. If you start the jeep then grab each individual connector and move it around this will sometimes cause the fault. If it does you need to inspect the pins in the connector as best you can then replace the pcm.

Re: Issues with my fathers 05 WK Hemi

He is experiencing Limp Home Mode.

Do what 2005JGC said above and get the codes and check the connections.

To get him back home while he continues to have this issue all he has to do it pull over, place it in park and turn off the Jeep then restart.
