Jeep stalling and code P0508 and P0509

Howdy,

2005WK 4.7 Another problem. The Jeep was stalling, and throwing P0508 and P0509. Could only drive the Jeep if I kept foot on throttle. Would happen during driving, and after the Jeep sat overnight or a long period of time would work fine. UNTIL the CEL went off, then would do it again. But it started getting worse. An would happen most every time I started the Jeep.

Thought the IAC might be bad, or dirty. Took the IAC out, cleaned and put back in. No dice, same issue. Bought a new IAC, and still the same issue. Could the wiring harness be bad? The computer? I am at a loss.

Any help would be appreciated!

Did you clean the throttle body? This can solve many idle problems. Be careful to not soak any electronic components ( like throttle position sensors) with solvent. Give to a try.

Also check the wire bundle for chaving and clean the connectors on the PCM (disconnect negative battery terminal first).
With the connectors off, measure the wiring for continuity and short to ground.

Re: Jeep stalling and code P0508 and P0509

I just bought my 05 jeep grand Cherokee limited, have had it for 2 weeks and so far hasn't ran a complete week yet.. I have replaced the pcm because it wouldn't run. You could hit the pcm while cranking and it would start and hit again and it would die, so the computer was shot. After replacing the pcm it ran great for about an hr or 2 then just rev up and died while it was in park, cel on I checked code's had a p0508 checkled plugs and cleared it ran great for another hour and got almost to my buds house and died in the road would only run when I hold gas down let off it dies, limped it to his house and checked codes this time I have a p0508 and a p0509. I replaced iac valve and still just dies after I start it, will start and rev to about 2000rpm and then die I can feather it wit the gas pedal and keep it running but rpm keeps dropping and will die after I let off gas. I got it idle one time and it idled extremely low like 200 or 300rpm. I have tried to relearn the code's but the come start back when I try to start it. I love this jeep but I'm starting to regret it. Since i've bought it 2 weeks ago I've replace the cam sensor, crank sensor, battery, pcm, oil pressure switch, fuel pump, IAC. I hope someone can help out. Also I'm not trying to steal your post just seen you have the same issue.
