Re: jeep surge idle

O2 sensors are used for mixture control, they have no influence on rpm. I would expect more an other sensor input signal to the PCM.

so what other sensors or wires do you suggest i take a look at that deal with the pcm besides the pedal position sensor? Ones that have a chance of getting wet that is when the jeep is driving down a wet road

Re: jeep surge idle

Update: well it rained today and you know what that means...went under the jeep to see what's wet. Opened up some plastic insulator connection near the driver side rear tire and found water inside. Found it interesting so gonna put some electric tape around it when it's dry out. Also found this random switch which idk what the heck it goes to but it has oil coming out of it. I've noticed this before but never paid much attention to it until today where it looks bubbly like water is mixed in it. I don't even think oil should be coming out of it in the first place. Can anyone tell me what this switch goes to? It's in the front near the fan.

Almost looks like a ac pressure switch. If so thats not oil. Would be di-electric grease. Shouldnt effect how she runs in the rain. Idk maybe you got one thats picky about weather. My last truck ran like doo doo when it was wet out

Yeah did some research and it is the ad pressure switch. Thanks for clearing that up though. But yeah guess so. Some people have been telling me to replace the spark plug wires which I have yet to do. il try that as my last option

Our jeeps dont have plug wires....but i entertain the idea that moisture or condensation is getting in the connectors on the coils.

They have too ordered them yesterday. You know the 3 spark plug wires that run from the coil to the passenger side? And by entertain are you saying its a possibility? I've replaced the coils 2 weeks ago with no change but never the wires running from the coil to the other side

So you saying you ordered spark plug wires for a coil on plug system? Or do you mean you ordered the engine harness. Our jeeps do not have plug wires.
